Ebenezer Benevolent Fund Ministry
The Ebenezer Benevolent Fund Ministry (EBFM) is a non-profit Christian organization that desires to walk alongside individuals and families who have encountered outstanding medical needs due to illness, injury, or medical diagnosis. The mission of EBFM is to minister to those individuals through steadfast prayer and financial gifts. EBFM is founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ. The prayer of this ministry is that God’s will might be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
What’s in the name?
In the Bible, the Israelites were battling against the Philistines. To put it simply, Samuel, an Israelite, prayed for the help of the Lord to be on his side. He prayed for God to rain down mercy and help in their time of need. The short of it is that the Israelites proved victorious with the help of God. Samuel raised an altar of eben to the Lord for the help He had given him. In Hebrew, the word eben means stone. Samuel raised his Ebenezer; he raised his stone of help. Thus, Christians are called to raise their Ebenezer as an act of worship to the Lord who helps them.
The Ebenezer Benevolent Fund Ministry hopes that the services offered to designated recipients will be a small stone in the life of someone in need; likewise, that the beneficiaries might take that stone and raise their own Ebenezer to the Lord and like Samuel, say… “The Lord has helped me.”
